Changing of the Keys
Jul 31, 2024
Another year is upon us for Sunrise Cooperative’s RISE FFA Career Program. We are beginning the sixth year of the program which continually enhances our commitment to growing the future of agriculture together.
The RISE FFA Career Program was developed in 2019 and serves two purposes: provide an avenue to reach the future leaders of agriculture, while supporting the Ohio FFA Association State President during their term in office.
This year, Sunrise officially hired 14 graduates as fulltime employees following their graduation.
Recognized on stage in May at the Ohio FFA Convention was Riley Collins from Hillsboro FFA, Seth Crytzer and Braydon Rakovec from Hillsdale FFA, Cara Deam of West-Liberty Salem FFA, Skylar England of Bellevue FFA, Alex Lamma from Sidney FFA, Seth Lenke from Oak Harbor FFA, Bodie Rogers of Tecumseh FFA, Ethan Scaggs from Lincolnview FFA, Madison Shell of Clyde FFA, Boston Smith from South Central FFA and Ben Sonnanstine from Miami Valley Career Technology Center FFA.
A new year is officially marked by handing the keys over to the top recipient of our RISE new hires. Alex Lamma from the Sidney FFA chapter was selected as the top recipient received a 2023 Jeep Gladiator, that the 2023-2024 Ohio FFA President Luke Jennings drove during his tenure, as a signing bonus.
Not to be outdone, and to show the growth of the RISE Program, this year will mark the first time that we will add two graduates to our training program that were not involved in FFA this past year, bringing our 2024 class of Sunrise University to 14! Coming on board in June with our FFA members was Heath Ringer II from Monroeville and Lane Bauer from Buckeye Central.
Moving forward on a new year, Sunrise President/CEO George D. Secor recently handed the keys to the newly elected 2024-2025 Ohio FFA President Anna Moeller. Anna stopped by the Corporate Office and officially took the keys to the RISE FFA Jeep. She did not waste any time, and made her first stop to visit the members of the Talawanda FFA Chapter the same day.
For more information on the Sunrise RISE FFA Career Program you can visit the Sunrise website at www.sunriseco-op.com/RISEFFA or the Ohio FFA website at www.ohioffa.org.
